Dental care on the agenda this Men’s Health Week

on 15th June 2019

This year’s Men’s Health Week takes place between 15 and 21 June.

Research indicates that men are less likely to seek dental and medical attention than women.

It is thought that a third of men visit the dentist once every five years, and 62% of males also only attend if they have dental pain or some other problem that needs to be sorted right away.

To encourage male patients to attend the dental practice and look after their health this Men’s Health Week, why not host a male-only open day, or offer some special deals to inspire them to visit?

Education is also an important step; remind male patients that they need to attend regularly. Perhaps you can organise a talk about oral health at the local gym. Whatever you decide to do, it’s important to make sure that men are hearing, and understanding, that their health should come first.
